Chonky Knit Cowl Workshop: Learn to Knit!

Has it been years since you have picked up knitting needles? Do you want to learn a new craft that is both relaxing and engaging? Take this workshop as a refresher class or to learn to knit for the first time! We carefully build on skills so you will come away with a cozy cowl, and all the knitting basics you need to tackle your next projects.

 

Dates: Saturday 9/21 and 10/5 (this is a TWO PART class!)

Class 1: Casting on and learning the knit stitch

Class 2: Joining in the round, purl stitch, binding off and finishing your cowl

Time: 9-10:30a

Description: In this class, you'll learn all the basics of knitting. This is a great class for an absolute beginner or someone who knows the knit stitch and wants a refresh and to build on their skills. At the end of these two classes you’ll have learned all the skills that you need to finish this cozy, chunky cowl. 

Prerequisites: none. Knowing the knit stitch is helpful but not necessary. 

Techniques you will learn: Long Tail Cast On, knitting, purling, joining and working in the round, binding off purl-wise, weaving in ends to finish your project
