Our Story

Squishing yarn and joining others in community are great passions of mine. I want to create a brave space locally where people can learn, build new skills, and connect over a shared love: yarn and fiber arts. I envision a space where everyone is welcome always, no matter your skill level, age, or demographic. Come have a seat at our fiber table! 

I learned to knit when I was 5. My Nana tried her best to teach me, but my hole-ridden scarf just ended up in the toy chest. A few years later, my Mom and her best friend took a beginner's knitting class at a local yarn shop. The shop owner, Erin, (with much enthusiasm, patience, and kindness) taught me the basics of knitting again and I finished my first bookmark. It was thrilling to finish a project and use something I made with my own hands!

I took a deep dive into the knitting and fiber world in 2018 and haven't looked back. I am a seasoned test knitter for various designers and some of my favorite projects are sweaters and shawls. I love troubleshooting projects and learning new skills.

As the owner of Connected Stitches, I want every interaction to be positive, empowering, and loving. I want you to feel like you CAN DO IT, and to encourage you as you try. Come as you are and get connected. I can't wait to meet you!
