Wool Prep
From raw fleece to roving ready to spin. Get acquainted with the tools of the trade, and try them in this class. We will compare raw wool to scoured wool. Comb, card, blend, additions--make your dream batt. I will go through everything from soap choice, temperatures, tips and tricks, drying, picking, combing, and carding. Touching wool makes you happier. Everyone is welcome who shares an interest in wool prep.
Teacher: Cecilia Stern-Frisenfelds
Cecilia is originally from Sweden, and used to author text books and worked as an editor and project manager for a large publishing house in Sweden. Years ago, she started her fiber company Nor'easter Yarns, focusing on local and small farms. Nor'easter Yarns does it all; customized roving, hand spun yarns, commercial yarns (local wool, local mill in Hillsdale NY Nobletown Fireworks), knitting, and various coops with local businesses.
