This is an afternoon PM session, 2p start after lunch.

Class will be shown as SOLD OUT until registration opens on May 1st.

Crocheting Nature-Intermediate to Advanced

Students should have crochet experience to take this class. You'll start by learning how to make a beech leaf with half treble and double treble stitches. You'll build confidence with freehand using photos for inspiration as you work up a nature themed appliqué. If you want to use patterns instead of freehand you'll have the change to try different shapes like mushrooms, sunflowers, maple leafs, and more.

Teacher: Nicole Sly

Nicole is a crochet artist and high school science teacher at New Roots Charter School. She learned to crochet just over two years ago when the school's Fiber Arts Club needed an advisor, and one of the students taught her the basics of crochet. Her love for crochet has since exploded, and she has developed specialities in color work and lace. Nicole has a background in science curriculum design which has lent itself well to pattern writing and creating other crochet teaching tools. Outside of crochet, Nicole is working on her knitting skills and is training to hike the White Mountains this summer!
