Needle Tatting
Have you heard of tatting? Not tattoo but tatting. Marci Snyder will be demonstrating the technique of needle tatting at the retreat. Tatting is a process of making lace from knots in the shapes of rings and chains using a needle or a shuttle. By creating rings and chains in various counts the tatter is able to create items ranging from jewelry to clothing. If you are interested in trying your hand at tatting- Marci will have all the necessary items to try Needle Tatting.
Teacher: Marci Snyder
Marci has been part the fiber world since 1994 when a coworker taught her to crochet. Over the past 30 years, she has expanded her fiber experiences by learning how to knit, spin, pin loom weave and tatting.
Marci made her first tatted piece during the Covid-19 lockdown - thanks to YouTube and a how-to kit. In 2021, she joined the Finger Lakes Tatting community and has enjoyed learning new things in Tatting.
Supplies Kit Provided ($16):
- A needle tatting kit with all the required tools and materials to create a project
