E-Spinner 101 Class

Learn to make your own yarn on an electric spinner! E-spinners are an accessible, portable way to make yarn. Join this 2-part introduction class and learn the basics of spinning on an Electric Eel Wheel 6.1. 

Dates: 

Class 1: Saturday, September 27th

Class 2: Saturday, October 4th

Time: 10-12p

Location: Connected Stitches Yarn & Fiber Shop (10 W Main Street in Dryden, NY (parking is available along Main Street, accessible parking is located behind the building with a driveway off of North St)

Cost: $120

Max Number of Participants: 3

Skill Level: absolute beginner 

Description: you will learn the basics, take a wheel home to practice and finish spinning your singles, then return for class 2 to finish your yarn. 

Class 1: wheel basics, prepping your fiber, spinning singles 

Class 2: making a plying ball, plying a 2ply yarn, finishing techniques 

Prerequisites: none

Techniques you will learn: prepping wool to spin, spinning singles, plying singles to create a 2ply yarn, finishing your skein of yarn

What's Included:

• Rental of an EEW 6.1 for one week between classes 
• A 2oz batt of naturally dyed Targhee wool to spin

• A willing to learn attitude
