Knitted Knockers Workshop- Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month!
In honor of this we have decided to host some workshops and make Knitted Knockers as a community.
Knitted Knockers are soft, lightweight breast prosthetics that are very comfortable for women who have undergone mastectomies, lumpectomies and radiation, and/or are undergoing reconstruction.
Option One: Tuesday, October 20
Time: 1-3p
Option Two: Wednesday, October 28 
Time: 6-8p
You are welcome to attend one or both of the workshops. We will be knitting Knockers through November and shipping them to the organization at the end of November.

Connected Stitches Yarn & Fiber Shop (10 W Main Street in Dryden, NY (parking is available along Main Street, accessible parking is located behind the building with a driveway off of North St)

Skill Level: Beginner, Skill Building beginner

Description: We will help you with the Knitted Knocker knitting pattern in your preference of small circumference knitting. We can help you learn to use double pointed needles, magic loop, or two 24” circular needles

Prerequisites: basic knitting skills, knowing how to knit in the round is helpful but not necessary

What's Included:

  • Printed copy of the pattern 
  • darning needle
  • stitch marker
What You Need:
  • Knitting needles in US 5 or the size needed to achieve gauge, 32” circular for magic loop, double pointed needles, or two 24” circular needles 
  • one or two skeins of CoBaSi DK*

*The type of yarn used for knitted knockers is very important, as they are worn directly against scarred and sensitive skin. We will not be able to ship any knitted knickers made out of yarns not on the approved list found on the knitted knocker website. CoBaSi DK is one approved yarn.
