Alyssa Welty is a developing fiber artist who is enamored by hand crafts, sustainable making and building community through art. She is passionate about leaning into vulnerability through artistic expression, and embracing the imperfection in making. Allowing yourself to create without critique is a healing process and is infectious. Alyssa spins, dyes, knits, and sometimes dabbles in weaving and embroidery. She sources her fiber from U.S. based fiber farms, and often hand processes her fleeces. She loves being involved in every part of the process.

Skill Level: Beginner
This class is for adults ages 18+. We find kids do better in a one-on-one learning environment where they can have the focus and attention needed to guide them through a new skill. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Description: In this class, you’ll learn how to use a drum carder and blending board to mix fibers. Materials will be provided for this class, including wool, silk, recycled sari silk, and alpaca. You will use the class drum carder and blending board, or you can bring your own.
Prerequisites: None
Techniques you will learn: blending different fibers and colors
