Amigurumi 101 will introduce you to the basics of making amigurumi, crochet dolls made almost completely with simple single crochet. We’ll go over the basic stitchwork, joining pieces together, simple color changes, and other introductory steps to get you started on your doll-making journey, while making a cute little bee along the way.

Brad is a crocheter, birder, and overall nature enthusiast. When not crocheting, he can be found tending to too many houseplants, or searching for birds around the Finger Lakes.

Skill Level: Beginner. This class is best suited for adults who know the basics of crochet.

Description: In this class, you'll learn the basics of making stuffies through Amigurumi crochet. 

Prerequisites: Crochet basics (chaining, single crochet stitch).

  • Yarn options will be available 
  • stitch markers, darning needles, and scissors will be available for use 

What You Need:

  • Crochet hook that works with your tension for worsted weight yarn (for amigurumi it’s best to go down from your usual size, but there’s no need for perfection here)
  • Black, yellow, and white worsted weight yarn (optional)
  • Darning needle - angled is better (optional)
  • Stitch markers (optional)
  • Row counter (optional)
