First Sweater Workshop

Saturdays 4/25, 5/2, 5/16, 5/30 (this is a FOUR PART workshop!)

Session Two
Wednesdays 6/3, 6/10, 6/24, 7/8 (this is a FOUR PART workshop!)
Time: 9:30-11am
Location: Connected Stitches Yarn & Fiber Shop (10 W Main St Dryden, NY 13053)
Teacher: Alyssa Welty
Alyssa is a developing fiber artist who is enamored by hand crafts, sustainable making and building community through art. She is passionate about leaning into vulnerability through artistic expression, and embracing the imperfection in making. She finds allowing herself to create without critique to be a healing, infectious process. Alyssa spins, dyes, knits, and sometimes dabbles in weaving and embroidery.
Cost: $150

Skill Level: Beginner

Description: In this class, you'll learn to make your first sweater! You’ll get the support you need to work through a raglan sweater pattern.
Prerequisites: basic knitting skills (casting on, knitting, purling, increasing, decreasing, binding off)
Techniques you will learn: reading a pattern, raglan style increases, basic sweater construction
What's Included:
- Printed copy of the pattern
- 10% discount on supplies in store
- Worsted or Aran weight yarn, enough to make the size sweater you wish to make
- Size 4.5mm circular knitting needles, lengths for both the body and small circumference
- Size 5.5mm circular knitting needles, lengths for both the body and small circumference
- Darning needle
- scissors
- Stitch markers
