Pressed Flowers Kerchief Supported Knit Along (KAL)

Join us at Connected Stitches for a Spring supported KAL! We will be working on the Pressed Flowers Kerchief by Amy Christofferson, led by local knitter, Josefine. This is a community supported project, you will work on your own knit kerchief and have the opportunity to ask questions and get advice throughout the process from other knitters. There is NO committed teaching time, but Josefine will be present to guide and encourage. 

We encourage you to join every knitting session so you can complete your project, but understand if you can't make it to every one! See the gathering schedule below to see what we will aim to work on each week. 

Dates: 

Gathering 1 (Saturday 4/12 1-3p): Casting on and starting the kerchief

Gathering 2 (Saturday 5/10 1-3p): Continued knitting and support

Gathering 3 (Thursday 5/15 6-8p): Final meetup and finishing your kerchief 

Time: Thursdays are 6-8p, Saturday is 1-3p

Location: Connected Stitches Yarn & Fiber Shop (10 W Main Street in Dryden, NY (parking is available along Main Street, accessible parking is located behind the building with a driveway off of North St) 

Teacher: Josefine (Chris will be avialable as well)

Cost: FREE! I must charge $5 at sign up to prevent spammers who take advantage of the free sign up. You will be reimbursed this $5 on your next purchase in store. 

Max Number of Participants: Not limited

Skill Level: Beginner to Advanced

Description: You choose whatever yarn you would like for the pattern. We have some great options that will work in the shop, and if you want help curating colors we’re here to help! We will work through the pattern and support each other in community, there is no official "teaching" session.

Prerequisites: experience knitting is necessary but beginners are encouraged to join. You should have basic knitting skills as this is not an official class time (knitting, purling, casting on, binding off)

What You Need:

• Yarn required for your kerchief
• Size knitting needles needed to obtain gauge

• Stitch markers
• Darning Needle
• Row counter (optional)

All participants will receive a 10% discount on supplies at Connected Stitches.

Homework: Purchase your supplies. Knit a gauge swatch to choose the correct size needles for your tension.
