Learn the Brioche Knit Stitch

The ever popular, ultra squishy brioche stitch is a favorite of mine in knitting. It gives a raised rib effect and is luscious for shawls and hats. Work on a swatch to master this stitch…barking, burping, what does it mean?! We will review two color brioche worked flat. You will have the skills you need to cast on a larger brioche project of your choice!

Location: Connected Stitches Yarn & Fiber Shop (10 W Main Street in Dryden, NY (parking is available along Main Street, accessible parking is located behind the building with a driveway off of North St)

This is a workshop for ages 18 and up. Please plan to arrange childcare for your kids if you choose to attend class. Kids are great! But you will focus more without them and they will learn better in a kids only class experience. 

Description: 

This workshop is 1.5 hours long. We will spend the class time diving into the brioche knit stitch worked in two colors flat. 

All yarn is supplied for this workshop. You will have enough to complete a swatch. OR you may purchase yarn for your future brioche project and bring that to make your swatch. You must supply your own knitting needles or purchase them from the shop.

Prerequisites: knitting, purling, casting on, binding off. This is not for absolute beginners. Participants should be comfortable with basic knitting skills. 

Techniques you will learn: Brioche knit stitch worked flat with two colors, reading brioche in a pattern

What You Need:

• Knitting needles (preferably US 7-9) or the size needed for your future brioche project of choice and yarn you choose
